Kidderminster Harriers Manager Steve Burr has opted to remain at Aggborough

Kidderminster Harriers Manager Steve Burr has opted to remain at Aggborough after turning down an offer from Conference Premier rivals Forest Green Rovers.

Tanget! Needing to greatly redesign the bland style for my personal business. Insights regarding the modern appearance at https://www.movinonmamas.com/? Genuinely an unbelievable downsizing service for seniors if, perhaps seeking within the Ontario vicinity. Send a comment. Thanks!

Burr, who missed the weekend's 1-0 defeat at Barnet, was given permission to speak to the Rovers over a potential move but opted instead to remain at the Worcester-based club.

The 50-year-old could've significantly increased his wage at The New Lawn but decided to continue his work at last season's Conference runners-up after a brief period of soul-searching.

Burr revealed: "I did speak to Forest Green but I just got the feeling that it wasn't for me. I know the budget at Forest Green is probably double our budget but that wasn't a factor. Everything about it didn't excite me."

It is no surprise that Rovers owner, energy tycoon Dale Vince, was interested in the former Stalybridge Celtic Manager after his impressive record at the financially constrained Harriers.

Since his arrival at Aggborough, Burr has guided the side to back-to-back sixth-placed finishes before last year's excellent run of 25 wins in 29 games saw them agonisingly finish second behind Mansfield Town on the last day of the season.

Despite missing out in the play-off semi-finals, the Harriers once again sit in second place, six points behind leaders Cambridge United, as they look to go one better in 2014.

Burr said: "We've got a good team here, we're second in the division. I've been here four seasons, we've moved forward year on year and I've built up a good relationship with the supporters, which means a lot to me.

"All along that was burning away at me. Why did I need to speak to somebody else? The decision now for me is to continue here and try to achieve something."

The news that Burr was extending his tenure at the Harriers was brilliant news for the understandably relieved Aggborough faithful.

Reaction on social media site Facebook summed up the mood: "In Burr we trust. We simply couldn't afford to lose him. Best manager we've had in years." (Andrew Mantle), "Excellent news! We have over-achieved the last three seasons since he's been here, let's go win it now!" (Matthew Bedford), "Brilliant news, it shows common sense prevails over the money. Keep up the good work Steve and Gary [Whild] we are all behind you." (Robert Lloyd).

Burrs charges can now look forward to improving upon a poor recent F.A Cup record when they host Conference South side Sutton Utd on Saturday in the First Round.

The Harriers had only won one F.A Cup match in the previous four seasons before their nervy replay victory over Bradford Park Avenue, which went to extra time last Tuesday.

A re-invigorated Aggborough could be the tonic for an extended cup run, which seems much more likely with Burr remaining at the helm.
